Age: 5-14 Years
Severity: Severe disease

This CXR demonstrates a destroyed right lung (bronchiectasis) with compensatory hyperinflation of the left lung. Note how the mediastinal structures are pulled across to the right by fibrosis / volume loss and / or pushed across to the right by the hyperinflated left lung. Note that in such cases it is difficult to decide on the CXR alone if these are sequelae of TB disease or if active disease is present.
